It was literally all hands on deck as Celebrity Cruises held the cruise industry’s first physical delivery ceremony since the start of the pandemic as it took ownership of Celebrity Beyond. Over 1,400 crew members from 60 different countries joined Celebrity executives and shipyard officials at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France
The ship is designed to offer “approachable luxury for everyone,” the line promised in a ceremony to officially take possession of the ship that included Celebrity Cruises President and CEO, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Royal Caribbean Group’s President and CEO Jason Liberty and Captain Kate McCue. The third ship in Celebrity’s Edge Class begins a summer season in the Mediterranean and will head to Florida in October for a fall and winter of Caribbean cruises..
