AmaWaterways Expands Gluten-free Cruise Program

Guests on an AmaWaterways celiac gluten-free dining cruise--AmaWaterways

Luxury river cruise line AmaWaterways is expanding its partnership with Celiac Cruise, an exclusive provider of gluten-free cruise vacations. Living with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity poses significant challenges. Individuals affected by the autoimmune disorder often find it difficult to enjoy travel due to fear of gluten exposure and other potentially serious health implications.

Through its work with ocean cruise lines and AmaWaterways over the past four years, Celiac Cruise has provided more than 5,000 individuals with the opportunity to experience incredible, safe gluten-free travel around the world.

Three new cruise options include an Oct. 12, 2024 Danube cruise on AmaViola, October 12, 2024, a Dec. 9 Christmas Markets cruise and a May 1, 2025 Bordeaux River cruise.

“The close collaboration with Celiac Cruise on full ship charters has been an enriching experience for our culinary teams who embraced the strict food handling and sourcing protocols and welcomed the challenge of creating delicious culinary experiences for guests with celiac disease,” said Kristin Karst, co-owner and executive vice president of AmaWaterways. “The Celiac Cruise partnership represents a significant milestone in our journey toward a more inclusive and accessible world for individuals living with celiac disease, and we are very proud to play a small part in this journey.”
