Whale watching, margarita lessons and local cuisine are attractions on a one-of-a-kind Pacific Coast sailing from San Diego to Costa Rica on American Queen Voyages’ new Ocean Victory and the line is offering free air from 30 cities.

“Guests have given Ocean Victory rave reviews on her inaugural Alaska season, and our Pacific Coast sailing provides a final opportunity to experience this unique vessel in 2022 before she returns to North America again next year,” said Isis Ruiz, chief commercial officer, American Queen Voyages. She added the cruise combines science, history, wildlife and adventure.

The 186-guest Ocean Victory features a radical curved bow designed for nature exploration in areas inaccessible to larger ships and features over-sea observation platforms as well as an expedition platform that can launch Zodiacs, and a fleet of kayaks for nature tours led by a team of biologists, naturalists and historians. Guided tours are included in each port and there are extra-charge premium tours that can include a Whale Shark Encounter and a salsa and margarita making food tour. The restaurant’s offerings will include regional cuisine.

The 15-day cruise on the ship which is heading south after a summer in Alaska can also be split into a San Diego to Puerto Vallarta eight day  segment or a nine-day Puerto Vallarta to Puntarenas segment.

A pre-cruise night in a hotel in San Diego or Puerto Vallarta is included, along with ground transfers, unlimited guided tours, unlimited beverages, open bar and Wi-Fi. Passengers who book by Aug. 31 can save up to $2,000 per stateroom.
