Avalon Waterways is expanding its fleet with two new Suite Ships that give guests the unique view they crave. In addition to launching the new Avalon Envision on the Danube in April, 2019–her godmother being best-selling author Elizabeth Gilbert–the river cruise company has announced a sister ship, Avalon View will sail the Rhine starting in 2020.

Both will feature the accommodations that repeat guests say brings them back to Avalon year after year. A survey of nearly 700 past Avalon cruisers found 96 per cent prefer Avalon’s Panorama Suites to other river cruise line cabins. Their favorite feature of Avalon’s Panorama Suites are Open-Air Balconies with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows offering the widest-opening windows of any European river ship—over two meters– on two full decks.

“There’s only one point-of-view on an Avalon Waterways river cruise: The suite view,” explains Pam Hoffee, managing director of Avalon Waterways. Avalon’s entire fleet of ships features Open-Air Balconies and beds facing the incredible view.” In the survey, 92 per cent of travellers said Avalon’s beds that face the view is “important” or “extremely important” factor in their decision to book a cruise on the line.

The Avalon View will mark Avalon Waterways’ 14th Suite Ship in Europe and its 17th  worldwide.
