Carnival Cruise Line has revealed six unique zones in its new 20-deck Mardi Gras, launching in 2020. In addition to all the features found on other Carnival ships, there will be only-on Mardi Gras attractions, including:

Grand Central

The three-story glass-walled atrium is designed as a social center, with a bar overlooking the starboard side of the ship. Bonsai Sushi and Bonsai Teppanyaki  are being expanded from designs on existing ships to reflect their popularity with guests. There’s also the first dedicated Punchliner Comedy Club with nightly shows, and the popular Piano Bar 88.

French Quarter

The bar and entertainment zone is a nod to New Orleans’ culture with a two-deck-high promenade leading to a traditional jazz club with live entertainment, bars and new themed dining options.

La Piazza

Italy is the theme in the middle of Deck 8, with family-style Cucina del Capitano and 24/7 Pizzeria del Capitano and a new Mediterranean-themed seafood restaurant. There’s also a bar where guests can grab a cappuccino by day or Italian cocktails at night, with roaming musicians keep everyone entertained.

Summer Landing

The far end of Deck 8 will be home to an expanded Guy Fieri’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse with smoked-on-board barbecue, , along with the line’s exclusive ParchedPig craft beers brewed on board. The zone will also include a pool and whirlpools, alongside a lunch counter for the Smokehouse Brewhouse.

Lido

An expanded two-story Lido deck will include existing Carnival favorites like Guy’s Burger Joint, the New England-inspired Seafood Shack, and BlueIguana Cantina Mexican eatery, along with some new foodie concepts that will be announced at a later date.

The Ultimate Playground

The showpiece of the family-friendly play area on the top decks will be BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster, the first roller coaster at sea, where riders race along an 800-foot-long track at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. There will also be the largest and most elaborate Carnival WaterWorks aqua park in the fleet, along with an expanded SportSquare.

Mardi Gras will also include all of the line’s signature features from its nearly completed $2-billion fleet enhancement program, including Alchemy Bar, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse and the Serenity adult-only retreat.
