Carnival Reveals Recipe for Famed Chocolate Melting Cake

Carnival's melting chocolate is a crowd pleaser--Carnival Cruise Line

If you can’t get on a cruise this week, Carnival Cruise Line just shared the famous melting cake recipe for you to try in your galley at home, just in time for National Chocolate Cake Day, Jan. 27.

They’re so rich and gooey. Carnival’s famously decadent molten chocolate hockey pucks are such crowd pleasers thousands can get served every evening on a Carnival ship.

It only takes five ingredients and 15 minutes, claims Carnival’s Chef Russel Gomes, who makes it look simple and tasty.

Here’s the formula:

Five Simple Ingredients

6oz Dark Chocolate
6oz Butter
4 Eggs
3oz Sugar
2oz Flour

Five Easy Steps

Melt the chocolate and butter
Mix eggs and sugar and whisk for a few minutes, then add flour
Add the egg mix to the melted chocolate and mix
Pour the mix into greased molds
Bake in the oven at 390°F for 20 minutes

You can top with icing sugar and serve with ice cream on the side if you wish.

Have fun.
