The relaunch of Crystal Cruises, to be known as simply Crystal, will see bigger rooms for fewer passengers.
Opening bookings for Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, new owners A&K Travel Group said many staterooms on the ships are being significantly enlarged, in some cases three former rooms becoming one suite. Serenity will see capacity shrink by 24 per cent, from 980 to 740.
There will be butlers for all levels and a ratio of nearly one crew for every guest. Most of the accommodations will be totally renovated with new furniture, wall coverings and Italian marble finishes and fine cotton linens. As many as 20 staterooms will be single-occupancy.
Crystal Serenity is scheduled to resume service July 31 with a 12-night Marseille to Lisbon cruise, Serenity will then operate in Northern Europe, Iceland, Canada and New England and the Caribbean, positioning it for the 2024 world cruise, which will start from Los Angeles.
Crystal Symphony launches Sept. 1 with a seven-night Athens to Istanbul sailing. After a series of Mediterranean cruises, Symphony repositions to a winter of Asia Pacific and Australia/New Zealand cruises.
