Emerald to the Heart of Saigon

Emerald Waterways brand new Star-Ship, Emerald Harmony that has just started sailing the Mekong River, is unique in Asia for a number of reasons. New images of the ship’s amenities tell the story:

1) Sail all the way to Ho Chi Minh City

Unlike most ships plying the Mekong that dock hours away from Ho Chi Minh City (still known to most as Saigon) , the modern Emerald Harmony has been custom designed to cruise right into the heart of the heart of the vibrant and historically significant Vietnamese city.

2) Intimate cruise experience

A classic combination of authentic Asian style and modern amenities, Emerald Harmony accommodates just 84 guests in 42 cabins for an intimate cruise experience. With 40 crew members—a guest-to-crew ratio of almost 2 to 1—guests can expect personalized service and a warm environment on board.

The ship also features a pool located on the ship’s aft, an Asian-themed Horizon Bar & Lounge, and an impressive 2:1 guest to crew ratio. The menu in the main Reflections Restaurant, will serve a menu showcasing native cuisine from the region. Featuring dark wood tones and muted colors, the Lotus Lounge, situated at the front of the Vista Deck, will be a quiet spot for guests to relax and share their experiences.

3) In depth in two countries.

The Emerald Harmony will sail between Vietnam and Cambodia, allowing guests to take an in-depth look at traditional ways of life along the Mekong. From the vast Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia to the French Colonial architecture of Ho Chi Minh City, tours will include experiences of life from a local perspective.

4) Four Itineraries to choose from

Those on a shorter timeline can book an eight-day sailing between Siem Reap, Cambodia (the location of Angkor Wat) and Ho Chi Minh, with daily excursions aimed at revealing the local culture and history. Emerald Harmony’s itineraries include a 13-day Majestic Mekong river cruise and tour between Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap, with time to explore Angkor Wat; a 17-day Treasures & Temples of Vietnam & Cambodia river cruise and tour with stops in Hanoi and Halong Bay in the north, and a 21-day Grand Tour of Vietnam & Cambodia river cruise and tour including stops at Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hue and Siem Reap.
