For the first time in a decade, Oceania Cruises floated out a new ship. Oceania Vista is the first of a planned new class of 1,200-passenger Allura ships.

The ship is being built by Fincantieri’s Sestri shipyard near Genoa and the yard’s madrina, Anna Trucco, smashed a bottle of prosecco against the hull.

“Vista is truly a ship of dreams, and we cannot wait to welcome her inaugural season guests next year,” said Howard Sherman, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises.

It’s been 10 years since Sestri delivered Riviera, Oceania’s most recent ship, noted Luigi Matarazzo, general manager of Fincantieri’s Merchant Ships Division.. “I am sure that Vista will give life to a new class of ships that will stand out for its refinement and technological advances,” he said.

Vista will feature all-veranda accommodations with bathrooms that promise oversized rainforest showers, large vanities, and copious storage space. Penthouse, Oceania, and Vista Suites are designed as sea-going residences with an abundance of living and dining space for entertaining. In a first for the brand, Vista will feature a new category of Concierge Level Veranda Staterooms dedicated to solo travelers.

Vista is scheduled to sail its maiden voyage from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Barcelona on April 14, 2023, followed by 12 additional European voyages prior to commencing sailings from the US to Canada/New England, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean.
