Holland America Line plans to visit Istanbul in 2020 for the first time since 2016. The plans include six overnight stays in the Turkish capital on 12-night sailings from Venice of its newly launched Nieuw Statendam.

Many cruise lines stopped sailing to Istanbul following the civil war in Syria, a terror attack at the airport and an attempted military coup.

HAL’s Nieuw Amsterdam, Zuiderdam and Veendam will also be doing itineraries in 2019 that overnight in Istanbul on Mediterranean cruises from Venice ranging from 10 to 14 days.
