Marella Wants to Make a Splash in America

Colorful vision of the coming Marella Voyager--Marella Cruises

You’re about to hear a lot more about Marella Cruises as the British company plots a course to America. The fleet is adding a fifth ship to be named Marella Voyager, which will join sister ship Marella Discovery, formerly Mein Schiff 1, sailing winter cruises from Port Canaveral.

The Marella Voyager, originally built as the Mein Schiff 2 for TUI Cruises, will be transferred to Marella and get a major renovation and upgrading in April, 2023. New restaurants will include Surf and Turf, Nonna’s and Snack Shack and there will be a Mexican venue and a “Secret Speakeasy” bar, according to
Chris Hackney, managing director of the company formerly known as Thomson Cruises.

The Marella Voyages that features 952 staterooms will inaugurate its new look with West Mediterranean itineraries out of Palma starting in June, 2023. The ship will debut in New York in the fall, then do week-long Caribbean cruises in the winter months.
