New Sun Princess on a Roll with Family Decks

Flying high on Sun Princess Park19 Rollglider--Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises is introducing the first Rollglider at sea among innovations in its family activity zone on the new Sun Princess coming in the winter of 2024.

There are three decks of attractions in what’s called Park19, including Sea Breeze, the Rollglider that uses a track that lets seated and harnessed riders speedily soar over the top deck.

Another innovation is Coastal Climb, which challenges guests to find their way through a set of obstacles to reach The Lookout, the highest point on the ship, where they can take in a panoramic view before sliding back to the lower deck.

There’s a big Splash Zone featuring what Princess calls pop jets and a water sculpture and The Net, a climbing course of bridges, balance beams and cargo nets. And Infinite Horizon features walls tilting over the side of the ship for views down 10 decks and to the sea below.

The Hammock Area, another first for Princess, is designed to let families hang out with friends.

The family zone also includes sports and wellness options with activities like ping-pong, shuffleboard and Xponential Fitness classes.

The youth and teen centers are on Decks 6 and 7, with age-appropriate activities for a range from 6 months to 17 years. These complimentary areas include Firefly Park, where families with babies and toddlers to crawl and explore a dedicated play area.

Neon Grove, for tweens, and The Underground, for teens, are separate spaces on Deck 7 to hang out and socialize, and just have fun. Both have colorful, comfy sofas and chairs for lounging, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch gaming consoles, plus air hockey, foosball and skeeball. Activities include ship scavenger hunts, movie nights, friendly competitions and dance parties.

Sun Princess, the first Sphere Class ship debuts in February, 2024, featuring Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona to Rome.

Like all Princess ships, Sun Princess is a MedallionClass vessel, featuring MedallionNet wi-fi at sea. The 4,300-guest Sun Princess will offer an array of new dining, entertainment, and activity offerings, as well as luxurious staterooms and suites across a broad spectrum of categories.
