Oceania is leading the switch to sustainable water

Regent Seven Seas  and Oceania Cruises will jointly eliminate up to 5-million plastic water bottles a year through a new partnership with purification system Vero Water. The green initiative is the latest of the line’s OceaniaNEXT upgrades and the larger Sail & Sustain environmental program of the sister cruise lines.

The system that distills still and sparkling water that’s served in dishwasher-safe glass bottles that can be reused many times will be installed first in suites, restaurants, lounges and bars on board Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Explorer in April It will be on all Regent ships and all six of Oceania’s ships  by mid- June, 2019.

Regent has also eliminated use of single-use plastic straws onboard.

Vero Water, is used around the globe by leading luxury hospitality brands such as Ritz Carlton, JW Marriott, Kimpton Hotels, MGM Hotels & Resorts, and Hyatt hotels. The proprietary purification system utilizes five separate layers of filters to deliver pure, chilled water. When the process is fully implemented, all guests will be provided with their own re-useable Vero Water bottle for shore excursions, which will be theirs to keep and to take home with them.

“By introducing Vero Water to the Oceania Cruises experience, we are not only taking a quantum leap forward environmentally, we are providing our guests with the gold-standard of still and sparkling water,” said Bob Binder, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises.
