Oceania Cruises is offering an enhanced gourmet taste of the Last Frontier, sailing a bigger ship with more than a dozen immersive explorations in Alaska in 2025

The 1,250 guest Riviera is replacing the smaller Regatta for its first Alaska season, with itineraries ranging from seven to 12 days and depart from Seattle, Whittier and Vancouver.

Riviera is still smaller and more agile than ships from other premium cruise lines sailing in the region, says Oceania’s president Frank A. Del Rio. Each itinerary features both lesser-known and iconic ports such as Homer, Sitka, and Juneau, giving travelers plentiful opportunities to engage with the destination on an entirely new level through indigenous tribal site visits, national park excursions and wildlife encounters, he notes.

Each sailing also features a naturalist on board to offer expert insights into the incredible biodiversity of Alaska, covering everything from whales to bears and seals.

Oceania’s Alaska Explorer Youth Program is also available on all voyages. Designed for children ages 5 to 12, the program includes games, activities and Alaska-inspired special events.

Emphasizing its culinary focus, Oceania Cruises offers food-focused excursions in every port. A unique offering is the Alaskan Coastal Brunch Escape & Cruise, sailing from Juneau to a remote island in Stephens Passage for a classic Alaskan-style brunch.

In Ketchikan, the Exclusive Crabbing Experience takes participants on a private charter to prime fishing grounds they’ll help the crew set crab pots and reel in Dungeness crabs, before heading to shore for a campfire feast.

And Hook & Cook at Salmon Falls in Ketchikan– which bills itself the Salmon Capital of the World– offers fishing for sockeye, king, silver and pink salmon that will then be prepared at the Salmon Falls Resort’s Timbers Restaurant.

On-board Riviera, The Culinary Center and the Chef’s Market Dinners in the Terrace Café curated by the onboard culinary team using fresh, local ingredients from the region.

To further enhance Oceania Cruises’ robust cruise itineraries, guests can book optional pre- or post-cruise land programs, including Discover Denali, in the 6-million acre national park created specifically to protect wildlife.
