As interest in small-ship expedition cruising continues to grow, Abercrombie & Kent is adding a luxury icebreaker to its fleet for 2024.

The exclusive charter of Ponant Cruises’ ship Le Commandant Charcot will allow it to offer an expedition to the North Pole in July 2024.

“A&K is known for taking our guests to the ends of the earth in luxury, but never before have we been able to offer an experience like this – our first expedition to the North Pole,” explains Stefanie Schmudde, A&K vice-president of product development. “We often hear from past guests who loved their experience and want to discover new destinations alongside A&K’s Expedition Team. So, we are introducing new destinations that most travelers have yet to visit, like Saudi Arabia and the Solomon Islands, as well as additional sailings of our most popular cruises to Japan and Greece.”

In addition to the new voyages, Abercrombie & Kent is offering a 2024 menu of guest-favorite expeditions from Polar cruises in Antarctica and the Arctic to exotic adventures in Asia and Africa and culture-rich explorations in Europe – many which offer the ability to combine into longer, more comprehensive voyages.
