Sea Dream Yacht Club is ordering a new ultra-luxury ship that can take 200 guests around the world.
It’s been a long time coming for the 25-year-old boutique ultra-luxury cruise line ,whose two ships carry just 112 guests and have a crew of 100. While the yachts were born in the 1980s and are over 40 years old, they’ve been meticulously maintained and have a loyal following.
“SeaDream III represents the next chapter for SeaDream,” said Atle Brynestad, founder and owner of SeaDream Yacht Club. “She will carry forward the same DNA as SeaDream I and SeaDream II: personalized service, exceptional cuisine, a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the genuine feeling of being on your own yacht. With SeaDream III, the whole world becomes our destination.”
“SeaDream III will accommodate around 200 guests, cared for by a crew of nearly equal number. Guest accommodations will span five decks and include a greater selection of suites, Commodore staterooms and connecting configurations, with private balconies across four guest decks. Larger suites and staterooms will provide more space to settle in, whether joining SeaDream for a single voyage or an extended journey.”
This isn’t the first time SeaDream has announced building plans. A superyacht called SeaDream Innovation was announced for launch in 2021, but that plan was cancelled in 2019. That ship was planned to carry 220 guests.
Now the market for five-star luxury yachts has expanded recently and other lines operated by Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons and Aman Resorts have come out with larger yachts.
A twist is that SeaDream’s new ship will be a world explorer.. Itineraties will include sailing up the St. Lawrence River into the Great Lakes with calls throughout Georgian Bay, Lake Superior, the Niagara Peninsula, Prince Edward County.
During her first 24 months, SeaDream III will sail to six continents, 73 countries, and 364 ports In 2030, the yacht will sail west from Asia to India, the Arabian Peninsula and the Mediterranean before arriving in London. From there, she will explore the British Isles, the Baltic, coastal Norway, Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland.
On January 5, 2031, SeaDream III will depart West Palm Beach on a 180-night World Voyage to London. The voyage will transit the Panama Canal before following the Pacific coast of South America through Ecuador, Peru and Chile.
SeaDream III will then journey through the South Pacific, visiting Easter Island, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, Niue, Tonga, Fiji and Vanuatu before continuing to Australia, Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The cruise continues through the Suez Canal to a grand tour of the Mediterranean.
Details of the ship and its venues and spa are still to come, but SeaDream has opened bookings for the inaugural season.
